Join our Volunteer & Community Wellbeing Services team and help make a real difference. As Volunteering Coordinator, you’ll recruit, train, and place volunteers across Trust sites, ensuring they positively impact patient experience and staff wellbeing.
You’ll manage day-to-day operations, supervise volunteers, coordinate activity, and work with staff to identify roles that add value. Strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. Experience in volunteer management or administration is desirable.
You’ll also monitor impact through data collection and champion volunteering to drive continuous improvement. If you’re passionate about people and creating change, we’d love to hear from you.
Main duties of the jobThe Volunteering Coordinator will work alongside the Volunteer Services Manager and link with the wider Volunteering & Community Wellbeing Services team, to manage the recruitment of volunteers across Trust sites. The post holder will be involved in all elements of recruitment, training and support, from advert through to placement of volunteers, utilising our volunteer database, Better Impact.
The post holder will organise the day to day running of the service, coordinating volunteer activity, supervising and supporting volunteers and dealing promptly with the receiving and issuing of requests.
The role will include all elements of project delivery from volunteer role development, to liaising with staff members to promote the service. The post holder will work with key contacts to identify tasks and priority areas where volunteers will enhance services, have a positive impact on patient experience and reduce pressure on staff.

Job responsibilitiesMain Duties and Responsibilities
To liaise with staff to identify key impactful tasks and develop volunteer role descriptions to reflect the duties required.
Promote volunteer roles to attract and recruit volunteers, based on the demand for the service.
To be the main point of contact for enquiries about volunteers.
Coordinate the day to day running of the service, including the receiving and issuing of volunteer requests.
Ensure that volunteer requests are met effectively, logging requests and volunteer availability to produce rotas and schedules to deliver a reliable service.
Supervise and support volunteers daily.
Arrange and facilitate regular meetings with volunteers and maintain good communication.
Ensure volunteers are fully supported and confident in their roles and are working within the scope of the pre-identified activities.
Respond quickly and efficiently to situations which may require re-allocation of volunteers.
