Medical Receptionist, Healthcare Administration
We are a large busy GP practice located in Watford, looking to employ a receptionist with excellent communication and phone skills who will be available to work across our 4 sites. As the first point of contact, this role is integral to our approach to patient care, both face to face and on the telephone.
Main duties of the jobBe available to work 5 days on 6 hour shifts allocated on a rolling am/pm rota, morning shift starts at 7am and afternoon shift starts role includes lots of telephone work.
You will be expected to receive, assist and direct patients either inperson or via phone in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Ensure that enquiries from patients areefficiently handled.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors,either in person or via the telephone

Job responsibilities:
Reception
- Processappointment requests from patients by telephone and in person.
- Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly imageto patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
- Handling repeat prescriptions
- Deal withvisits requests ensuring they are entered on computer with the patientrecords
Administration
- To have athorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
- To work in accordance of written protocols
- Pulling/filingnotes as necessary
- Photocopying as requested
- Dealing with post
Other Tasks
- Clear and stock roomsafter surgeries
- Ensure buildingsecurity and have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
- Any other tasksallocated by managers
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player
- GCSE grade C or above
- Full training will be given to applicants with relevant transferable skills
- Previous experience working in a GP Practice
- Knowledge of Systm One clinical system
