Cleaning Team Leader

Location:

Watford

Salary: £30-32k pa

Contract:

Permanent, 40 hours per week, 2pm to 10pm

Start date:

ASAP

Full UK Driving Licence required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and action handovers from the morning team and facilitate a smooth handover to the evening team.
  • Ensure the afternoon team is performing their roles to expected standards.
  • Delegate jobs fairly between team members based on skills and workloads.
  • Provide clear communication and support to team members throughout the shift.
  • Track and assess team performance, providing feedback and recognising achievements.
  • Carry out weekly payroll duties.
  • Carry out cleaning duties if required as part of the team on‑site.
  • Conduct spot checks and site visits to maintain service quality.
  • Sign off completed jobs with clients.
  • Visit job sites to gather information for quoting purposes.
  • Drive across sites to ensure all teams are meeting expectations.
  • Liaise between the Account Manager and staff to relay updates or instructions.
  • Communicate with clients professionally and clearly.
  • Handle complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring follow‑up actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with recruitment by participating in face‑to‑face interviews.
  • Help onboard and train new starters.
  • Support in disciplinary investigations, including note‑taking and evidence gathering.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Report and address any concerns or non‑conformities promptly.
  • Conduct toolbox talks with the team.
