As part of their continued growth in the utilities sector, a tier 1 civil engineering contractor is recruiting a Lead Managing Quantity Surveyor to complement their team on a Capital Delivery Framework in the water sector.

The role offers an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to advance their career with a fast‑track progression to Commercial Manager. The company places a heavy emphasis on staff welfare, professional development, and training.

• Lead, support and encourage commercial staff with training, mentoring and appraisal.
• Develop an environment where Commercial and Project Management staff share ideas and best practices.
• Monitor and support commercial staff through personal objectives agreed and regularly reviewed.
• Facilitate coaching/training to develop staff and ensure roles and responsibilities for commercial team members are understood and met.

• Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager; provide leadership and support to junior team members; provide contractual advice to operations delivery management.
• Review sub‑contractors and engage with and expand the supply chain.
• Raise new subcontracts, monitor and maintain governance compliance.
• Work closely with the Operational Lead to ensure accurate data recording, identify risks and commercial opportunities; conduct sub‑contract evaluations and authorise payments.

• HNC/BSc in Quantity Surveying with no less than six years’ experience in civil engineering or utility sectors as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor.
• In‑depth knowledge of NEC contract forms and a demonstrable career history within a subcontractor or main contractor.
