• Take ownership of tasks delegated by the Team Leader, such as UAT testing, product set‑up in Fusion, and updating procedure documents.
• Manage the team during the Team Leader’s absence.
• Assist in training, mentoring, and act as a referral point for less experienced members.
• Serve as a broker support point for application queries when the Team Leader is unavailable.
• Maintain broker relationships integral to the growth of West One Secured Loans.
• Promote our team ethic.
• Ensure all underwriting complies with company policy and regulation.
• Underwrite large loan applications (up to £250k) and maintain a pipeline.
• Liaise with introducers, valuers, and solicitors to maintain excellent relationships.
• Ensure all cases are underwritten within the Group’s risk appetite.

• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Pass internal competency tests after induction.
• High attention to detail.

• Strong understanding of FCA regulation.
• CeMAP certification (desirable, not essential).
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs A‑C (including Maths and English).

• Flexible.
• Articulate.
• Well‑organised.
• Robust, able to work to deadline and under pressure.
