Bridging Underwriter – Specialist Property Finance

We’re looking for an experienced Bridging Underwriter to join a leading specialist property finance lender. You’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of cases from application through to completion, working at pace, managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring every deal is underwritten with precision and integrity.

• Manage the full lending process from initial enquiry to drawdown, adhering to underwriting and due‑diligence standards.
• Handle a live pipeline of bridging cases, prioritising efficiently to meet client and business timelines.
• Ensure every case complies with internal lending criteria and regulatory standards.
• Liaise closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal teams to progress cases smoothly.
• Instruct solicitors post‑offer and manage documentation through to completion.
• Apply sound underwriting judgement, balancing speed with quality and risk control.
• Support the wider team where needed and contribute to a collaborative, solutions‑driven culture.

• Proven experience underwriting within bridging finance.
• Strong understanding of FCA regulation and responsible lending principles (CeMAP desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with the confidence to challenge and influence.
• A resilient, flexible mindset - comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
