Personal Tax Manager – Top 50 Accountancy Firm

Butler Rose Public is delighted to be working with a well‑established, medium‑sized Top 50 accountancy and tax advisory firm based in Central Watford, currently experiencing sustained growth and continued investment in its people and services.

As part of the Watford‑based tax team, you will play a key role in supporting the firm's ongoing growth and delivering exceptional service to clients.

• Working closely with Tax Principals and colleagues to achieve team and client objectives
• Building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored advice
• Preparing complex personal, partnership and trust tax returns
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing guidance and support
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and assisting with the implementation of agreed strategies
• Managing and responding to HMRC enquiries and compliance reviews
• Collaborating with other teams and senior stakeholders across the firm on ad‑hoc advisory assignments

• CTA qualified with 2+ years post‑qualification experience in a similar personal tax focused managerial or supervisory role
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor and supervise junior staff
• Experience managing a client portfolio, taking ownership of compliance and advisory matters
• Solid IT skills, with familiarity with Digita tax software advantageous
• Up‑to‑date technical knowledge supported by recent training and hands‑on experience
• Clear and confident communication skills with both clients and colleagues
