About the OpportunityBI Data Manager - Business Intelligence
Join our dynamic Business Intelligence team within Finance as a BI Data Manager in the retail industry. You'll be at the heart of an evolving, fast‑paced environment with exciting projects on the horizon. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in establishing a single source of truth across the organisation, enabling consistent and reliable reporting from the company’s data by defining key performance indicators, managing master data, and ensuring financial accuracy.
YourResponsibilities as a BI Data Manager
- Collaborate across the business to maintain data governance and compliance standards in line with organisational policies.
- Support the creation of comprehensive frameworks and policies for consistent data management practices.
- Deliver data quality assurance, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality throughout all data processes and systems.
- Manage master data within the data lake, partnering with teams across the business to ensure accuracy for all manual data inputs.
- Develop and maintain policies for master and reference data management.
- Work with the BI Development team to scope all data changes and project requirements.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement more efficient technologies and business processes.
- Drive improvements in data workflows and system capabilities.
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non‑technical stakeholders.
- 5+ years of Business Intelligence / data experience.
- Relevant professional or industry qualifications with advanced SQL and data analysis expertise.
- Expert proficiency with BI tools and strong documentation capabilities.
- Confident communicator with end‑to‑end project ownership experience.
- Strong business analysis skills and excellent user engagement abilities.
- Project Management, Data Governance, and Change Management experience.
- Functional and technical understanding of Google reporting and data warehouse architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL databases, including building both basic and complex queries.
- Experience with cloud data warehouse technologies and confidence working with large datasets (e.g. Big Query).
- Understanding of data integrity, quality issues, and end‑to‑end data flows.
- Experience in managing, capturing, defining, and documenting user information requirements within maintainable environments.
- Experience training non‑finance users.
- Strong team working and collaboration abilities.
- Highly articulate, personable, and engaging communication style.
- Well‑organised with flexibility to manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- Star and snowflake schema modelling experience (desirable).
