** Barnet Nursery
** are recruiting a
** Kitchen Assistant working 30 hours per week**, Monday – Friday afternoon (10pm – 5pm) all year round (50 weeks a year).This role involves supporting the full time Nursery Chef to prepare and cook meals for our children, as well as helping to
** maintain our 5 star Food Hygiene rating.

** Duties:
*** Support chef ensuring that all kitchen equipment is clean and well-maintained .
* Follow food safety protocols to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
* To support/assist the Nursery Chef in ensuring a high standard of catering with all food being prepared for the children through following the policies, procedures, legislative guidelines and relevant instructions as set out by the Nursery.
* To complete advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
** Requirements of Kitchen Assistant role:
*** Good understanding of the importance of health and hygiene
* Experience in a kitchen environment (nursery or school settings desirable)
* Clear DBS
* Understanding of catering for special diets, allergies and intolerances
* Strong communication skills
* Good timekeeping and organisational skills
* An enthusiastic, flexible, can do attitude
* Ability to work quickly but efficiently.
* Ability to work well in a team
