Production Welder – Aluminium TIG Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Production Welder – Aluminium TIG Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is focused on producing high-quality aluminium automotive components to exacting standards, ensuring both structural integrity and exceptional visual finish. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting‑edge automotive projects within a professional and supportive production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform precision TIG welding on aluminium automotive components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Prepare, align, and clamp components to ensure correct fit, accuracy, and finish
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Collaborate with production engineers and quality teams to resolve technical or process issues
  • Work efficiently to production schedules and deadlines without compromising quality
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in Aluminium TIG welding, ideally within automotive or precision engineering environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Good understanding of welding safety standards and best practices
  • Experience working with jigs, fixtures, and batch production processes
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
  • Recognised welding qualifications (e.g. BS EN ISO 9606 or equivalent)
Experience With Additional Welding Processes (MIG, Brazing)
  • Experience working with other materials such as steel or stainless steel
  • Familiarity with motor sport or high-performance automotive components
Role Characteristics

    Some independence of action within clearly defined procedures
  • Complexity:
    Work requires discretion, judgement, and knowledge of a variety of welding methods and techniques
  • Supervision:
    Operates under general supervision with routine performance checks
  • Responsibility:
    No direct reports, though may assist with training or guiding junior team members
