Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Sunday. Permanent contract.
Shift times:
Flexible – works day shifts, long days, nights and weekends based on internal rotation.
Salary:
Competitive depending on experience plus 9% shift allowance.
We're looking for a Staff Nurse or an experienced Nursing Associate to join our Surgical Inpatients team at the Wellington Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC.
The unit provides care for pre‑ and post‑operative patients for a full range of specialities: plastic and breast surgeries, colorectal, gynaecology, bariatric, ENT, upper GI, gynaecology, urology, vascular & general surgery.
As the Staff Nurse, you will plan, deliver and evaluate high‑standards of nursing care while working within a multidisciplinary team, supervising and directing junior staff and temporary staff.
As a Nursing Associate you will bridge the gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses, to deliver hands‑on, person‑centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team in a range of clinical duties such as monitoring, dressing wounds and communicating with patients about their condition.
You will demonstrate good clinical practice at all times, be accountable for your own actions and contribute to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedures, research‑based care and other practice development initiatives.
What You'll Bring- Registered Nurse Level 1
- NMC Registration
- Extensive experience as a qualified nurse or Nursing Associate in a surgical ward is essential
- Completion of Level 5 Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (Nursing Associate)
- Completed Medicine Module as a Nursing Associate is essential
- Basic life support
