Sr. Offshore Wells Engineer
Do you want to play a key role in one of South America's most promising offshore basins? Can you turn subsurface data into safe, efficient well designs?
We are looking for a Senior Offshore Wells Engineer to transform exploration and development objectives into executable well programs. You will ensure that offshore wells are drilled safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Develop detailed well design and drilling programs for exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
- Conduct risk assessments, well integrity checks, and cost/time estimations.
- Provide 24/7 technical support during offshore drilling operations.
- Monitor real-time well performance and optimise drilling parameters (ROP, torque, hydraulics).
- Ensure strict compliance with international HSE and quality standards (API, ISO, NORSOK, OGP).
- Lead incident investigations, perform root-cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with subsurface, subsea, completions engineers, and contractors.
- Interface with regulatory authorities for well permits and compliance.
- Prepare End-of-Well Reports (EOWRs) and implement lessons learned.
- Review engineering designs, tender packages, and contractor documentation.
- Support field development planning and evaluate new offshore projects.
- Participate in HAZID/HAZOP workshops, project reviews, and risk mitigation processes.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge building.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or related Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in drilling/well engineering, including at least 3 years in offshore deepwater operations.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control (Supervisor Level) certification.
- Valid BOSIET/HUET offshore survival and medical certification.
- Skilled in well engineering software and technical documentation.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve technical challenges under operational pressure.
- Deep commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
