Assistant Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Shop Manager to support the running of our busy charity shop in Welwyn Village on Sundays. The role will work alongside the Shop Manager and a dedicated team of volunteers to help run a vibrant and successful store, upholding our strong reputation within the local community and directly supporting Isabel Hospice in providing expert care to those who need it most.

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise store income and profits by delivering exceptional retail standards
• Maintain and promote the highest standard of customer care
• Create eye‑catching displays and maintain cleanliness throughout the shop
• Support the Shop Manager to engage and train volunteers to assist in the running of the shop
• Meet gift aid conversion rates from people donating goods
• Support events held both in the shop (evenings) and the local community

• Experience of working in a customer‑focused environment
• Interest in or experience with sustainable fashion
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Shows understanding, respect and consideration for others at all times
• Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to work
• Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive attitude
• Collaborative team player
• Proficiency in email, MS Office and internet use
