Role Overview
You will join a highly motivated and diverse team, supporting the marketing communication needs of the Global Business Line Pulp, Paper & Fiber within the ABB Process Industries Division. As a Marketing Communications Specialist, you will be a key player in creating, managing, and reviewing programs, messages, materials, and activities that support the global Pulp, Paper & Fiber strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the execution of the global marketing and communications strategy and plan, with a strong focus on storytelling, thought leadership, and lead generation and nurturing.
- Developing an active understanding of the Pulp, Paper & Fiber industry, its role and challenges, and ABB’s tailored portfolio to design and execute relevant campaigns, stories, and marketing materials.
- Creating, managing, and reviewing programs, campaigns, stories, messages, and materials that support global and local marketing and communications objectives.
- Taking ownership of assigned marketing communications activities across all available channels and tools, following guidelines, directives, and messaging.
- Project managing product launches and material updates, internally and externally, in coordination with product management, agencies, design, and writing resources.
- Demonstrating persistence in securing input and support from sales, operations, and product management to drive content and campaign creation.
- Ensuring consistent brand and Business Line positioning across all materials.
- Designing and developing digital marketing and automation programs to generate and nurture qualified leads.
- Maintaining GDPR‑compliant mailing lists and expanding the database with qualified leads.
- Creating and managing newsletters.
- Creating and managing a social media editorial calendar.
- Managing global web pages and internal portals, and retrieving and analyzing statistics such as Google Analytics and social performance.
- Organizing, auditing, and maintaining images/illustrations for ABB use.
- Helping maintain marketing collateral across the portfolio.
- Proofreading all produced materials and writing when needed.
- Analyzing and reporting campaign results and metrics and communicating findings to stakeholders.
To Be Successful, You Bring
- A minimum of five years of experience in marketing communications, ideally within an agency or a related B2B industry, along with strong project management capabilities that enable you to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to explain complex technology in an engaging, accessible way.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, paired with a creative and innovative mindset that enables you to generate fresh ideas while maintaining consistency with brand and Business Line positioning.
- A solution‑oriented, self‑starter mentality and a passion for both strategic and analytical thinking.
- Background includes knowledge of digital marketing and marketing automation tools such as Salesforce and Pardot, as well as the business acumen needed to develop a deep understanding of the portfolio and market.
- Collaborative, a strong networker, and a supportive team player.
- Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is considered an advantage.
Working Model
This role is remote. We offer flexibility regarding the role’s location within Europe. While applications from across the region are welcome, Switzerland is currently not our primary hiring focus.
