The North America Senior Manager Midstream Operations for Biofuels is accountable for NA midstream partnerships within Bayer's biofuel closed loops, including securing, contracting and operating grain aggregation and crush capacity near priority draw areas. This role ensures timely execution of partner contracts, accurate rolling supply and demand forecasts, disciplined crop-to-crush planning, on-time grain delivery against contract commitments and reliable operational execution so every acre of camelina and winter canola has a clear, traceable and cost-effective path to the refiner as both programs scale over the five-year framework.
YOURTASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Contract Management
- Represent Bayer in partner governance forums and subcommittees.
- Define the contract structures required with grain aggregators and crush partners.
- Negotiate, implement and manage midstream service agreements to support reliable execution of closed-loop value chains.
- Serve as the key account lead for grain aggregators and crush partners within the winter canola and camelina closed loops.
- Ensure contract delivery and coordinate communication across Newgold agents, growers and Sales teams so all parties are aligned from contracting through delivery.
- Oversee grain aggregations and crush operations to ensure delivery against contract commitments.
- Build and manage the North America logistics model across truck and rail freight, storage and quality requirements for grain, meal and oil.
- Track grain deliveries to support year-end reconciliation of service agreements and performance of camelina and winter canola production.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues such as contract non-performance, weather/harvest variability, freight constraints, quality failures and crush outages.
- Build rolling demand forecast dashboard, production plans, crop to crush planning, and aligning with downstream partner demand forecasts.
- Explore digital tools to support performance reporting and risk management.
- Develop and maintain a grain aggregator and crush partner network map to inform current and future draw zones for grower acquisition and agent placement.
- Identify regions where additional crush capacity is required, including greenfield and brownfield opportunities.
- Inform external investment strategy and capacity planning to avoid bottlenecks as camelina and winter canola programs scale.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, supply chain, engineering or related field;
- Proven record negotiating tolling, crush service or offtake agreements;
- Strong communication skills across the full value chain, including growers, agents, aggregators, crushers, logistics providers and refiners.
- 10 years of experience in oilseed processing, grain origination, commodity logistics, renewable fuel supply chains or related commercial operations;
