American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of OR experience for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring BLS certification and surgical care knowledge.
Requirements- Active WV or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- IV skills required
- Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required
- Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration
- Any licensing history issues must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Acute care Operating Room setting with 15 suites handling 55-70 cases per day
- Patient population includes all surgical procedures with same-day and overnight stays
- Uses Allscripts EMR, transitioning to Epic in April
- Scheduled shifts are 3x12-hour or 4x10-hour per week, including day, afternoon, or midnight shifts per department needs
- One weekend shift required per 4-week schedule (8-hour shift, 7A-3P Saturday or Sunday)
- 1-2 second-call shifts required per 4-week schedule, consisting of a 24-hour call from 7A-7A on a weekend day
- Call response time is 30 minutes
- Floating required to the OR holding area
- Scrubbing required for preop care only
- Provide preoperative nursing care within a surgical center environment (not a freestanding surgical facility)
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Unit-specific orientation provided for the Surgical Center/preop area
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local travelers are not accepted
- Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
