. This two-year term, full-time position will require working 75 hours bi‑weekly and will establish a 12‑month eligibility list for similar future positions.
The position is based in Whitehorse, Yukon, and involves overseeing all EMS operations across the territory, including air ambulance and ground services in Whitehorse, Watson Lake, and Dawson, as well as volunteer programs in 15 rural communities. The Chief will lead a management team committed to delivering exceptional pre‑hospital care.
ResponsibilitiesLead strategic vision and operational excellence for Yukon EMS, ensuring high‑quality emergency care across the territory. Supervise all operational aspects, including air and ground ambulance services, volunteer coordination, and community initiatives. Partner with provincial and local stakeholders, manage human and financial resources, and promote safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications- Completion of post‑secondary education in health administration, paramedicine, emergency management, business, public administration or other relevant discipline.
- Recent experience in healthcare program management.
- Recent senior management/executive experience, including considerable experience managing human and financial resources.
- Current or former certification as a Primary, Advanced, or Critical Care Paramedic, or registration as a Registered Nurse with pre‑hospital care experience (asset).

Verification of certification as a Primary, Advanced, or Critical Care Paramedic or proof of registration as a Registered Nurse.
