Job SummaryWe are currently hiring for a Casual Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Nurse to join our Primary Health Care team at Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, B.C.

- Conduct nursing assessments and evaluate patient’s functional status and risk factors, develop a care plan, and collaborate with the health care team.
- Provide nursing supervision during exercise sessions, offering psychosocial support and monitoring patients for abnormalities.
- Provide direct nursing care by checking vital signs, applying telemetry, interpreting rhythms, and modifying care plans as needed.
- Lead response to complications during exercise by initiating emergency care, calling 911, and documenting incidents.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health maintenance, and health promotion strategies.
- Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, participating in conferences and meetings.
- Maintain patient records, documenting patient information, observations, interventions, and teaching outcomes.
- Identify learning needs, review them with the Manager, and engage in activities to meet these needs.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, generating recommendations and conducting safety audits.
- Act as a clinical resource/support person, explaining nursing decisions and participating in orientation and continuing education.
- Provide input to the Manager regarding policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Operate, maintain, and clean related equipment, referring repairs as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Graduation from an approved school of Nursing. Two (2) years’ recent related clinical experience in a cardiac rehabilitation environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Current CPR Level C or equivalent and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
