We are seeking a part-time Chaplain to provide spiritual care, foster faith journeys, and support residents, families, and team members.

You will play a key role in our interdisciplinary team, nurturing the human soul and reflecting Baptist Housing’s values.

About The Role

* This is a part time position of three days a week

You will provide compassionate spiritual care and foster meaningful connections within our community. Your role involves supporting residents, families, and team members, addressing their spiritual, emotional, and social needs while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual Care for Residents:

Conduct spiritual assessments and contribute to care planning.

Lead Christian worship services, Bible teaching, and prayer gatherings.

Offer support for end-of-life care, grief, and ethical concerns.

Support for Team Members:

Provide spiritual and emotional support for team members.

Assist with ethical concerns and facilitate an inclusive environment for personal faith and beliefs.

Collaboration and Networking:

Work with local clergy, volunteers, and community groups to enhance spiritual care services.

Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver holistic care.

Administrative and Reporting Duties:

Maintain accurate records and reports on spiritual care activities.

Collaborate with leadership on strategies and budgets for spiritual care.

Health and Safety:

Promote and maintain safe work practices throughout the community.

Requirements

A graduate degree in Divinity or a related theological degree (e.g., M.A. in Spiritual Care) or a minimum of a Bible or ministry degree from an evangelical Bible school

Graduation from an accepted Clinical Psycho spiritual Education (CPE) course or training in professional chaplaincy is preferred.

The candidate must affirm and demonstrate that his or her doctrinal position agrees with the Baptist Housing Ministries Statement of Faith.

Capable of endorsement from the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in BC and Yukon

Consideration will be given to life experience and personal learning.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. (i.e., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid work permit)

We offer an hourly salary of $36.76. Your compensation includes employer paid extended health and dental coverage, retirement savings plan contributions, and paid vacation.
