Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is on the lookout for a new Design Engineer to join the engineering department. Within the role you will be responsible for the design of new products and concepts in-line with business requirements.

As the successful Design Engineer you will be involved in the creation, verification and preparation of detailed technical design drawings using CAD and Microsoft software packages.

• Prepare manufacturing instructions as required for new products.
• Resolve potential manufacturing issues early on in the design stages of the product.
• Work closely with design briefs to resolve details and discrepancies or to prepare unusual and complex works.
• Have contact with internal and external customers during the design process.
• Provide a formal handover to the pre-production team.
• Ideally be qualified to HNC/HND or above in a relevant area.
• Ideally have experience with injection moulding, fibre optics and electrical connectors.
• Ideally have experience of FMEA processes and LEAN processes.
• Ideally have experience of CREO.
