Team Leader – Machine Shop – CNC Machining

Whitstable, Kent | £34,000–£37,000 | Permanent | Mon–Thu 08:00–16:30, Fri 08:00–13:30

Guide the team in a busy CNC machine shop and lead measurable improvements across safety, output, and team capability.

This role sits within a well-established engineering group known for its technical innovation, robust product range, and investment in modern manufacturing practices.

You will co-ordinate the machine shop team’s work to ensure that all parts are manufactured correctly in the most accurate, timely and efficient manner.

• Organise daily workload and ensure it is carried out in line with achieving KPIs
• Work with the Production Manager to facilitate the management of cell metrics, such as on-time delivery, quality performance, etc.
• Initial processing of Health and Safety - Accident and Near Miss reporting and follow-up / Risk Assessments and COSHH and Quality issues
• Set and run assigned machinery safely
• Complete daily performance metrics and communicate results with the team.

• Experience working on CNC machining (metal preferred) in a manufacturing or production environment
• Team leadership experience, including delegating tasks, managing workload, conducting performance and conflict management, etc.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and conduct first-off inspections
• Knowledge of MRP / ERP production systems
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning and quality systems
• Understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including Risk Assessments and COSHH.
