Halton Borough Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our Duty & Assessment Social Work Team. This is a key leadership role, supporting frontline social workers to deliver high-quality, timely assessments and interventions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people across the borough.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day operational management and supervision of social workers.
- Oversee duty and assessment workflows, ensuring timely and proportionate responses.
- Quality assure assessments, decision-making, and care planning.
- Support staff development through reflective supervision and performance management.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.
- Assist the Service Manager with service improvement and performance targets.
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Duty & Assessment services.
- 3 years permanent experience.
- Confident decision-maker with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Able to manage pressure in a fast-paced frontline environment.
