Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00-16:00 / 09:00-17:00hrs

The Company/RoleBeing a highly successful leading manufacturer of high‑performance process chemicals, our client is looking to appoint a hands‑on, motivated Assistant Production Supervisor to join their expanding team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our production plant. You will also act as a stand‑in Production Manager when required, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Asthe Assistant Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities would be:
- Monitor production equipment to ensure continuous and efficient manufacturing of chemical products.
- Identify and respond promptly to production and mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
- Assist with troubleshooting and rectifying mechanical issues and liaise with external contractors for maintenance, repair and project work.
- Supervise contractor activities on site to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Manage and issue Permits to Work (PTW) for maintenance, contractor activities and other non‑routine tasks.
- Monitor and maintain raw materials, finished goods and consumable inventories.
- Work closely with the logistics and procurement teams to ensure material availability.
- Function as stand‑in Production Manager during absences, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimisation efforts.
- Must have solid experience of working within a Chemical or Process Manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience working within a Team Leader or Supervisory position is required.
- Strong understanding of Permits to Work, safety systems and contractor management.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience handling equipment breakdowns or maintenance coordination.
- Previous experience working on any project work would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem‑solving mindset with hands‑on technical ability.
