Bennett & Game are pleased to represent a well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy that is looking to bring on a Civil Engineer to undertake work on a variety of drainage-led residential and commercial development projects across the North West of England. The team specialises in the design of foul and surface water systems, SuDS strategies and flood risk assessments, supporting developers in securing planning and technical approvals.
Projects range from small infill housing sites to large multi-phase schemes, offering exposure to diverse and technically rewarding drainage design work within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
- Designing foul and surface water drainage networks in line with local authority and water company standards
- Preparing detailed SuDS strategies, drainage calculations and flood risk assessments to support planning applications
- Producing drawings, layouts and technical submissions using AutoCAD and Micro Drainage / Causeway Flow
- Preparing Section 104, 106 and 185 applications and liaising with relevant authorities for approval
- Supporting senior engineers with the delivery of drainage and external works packages from concept to completion
- Coordinating designs with architects, planners and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
- Contributing to technical reports, design reviews and ongoing project meetings to maintain quality and compliance
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in drainage design within residential or commercial development projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage design software such as Micro Drainage or Causeway Flow
- Strong understanding of SuDS principles and current design standards (Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations Part H, etc.)
- Experience preparing Section 104 and 185 submissions and liaising with local authorities or water companies
- Ability to produce detailed drawings, calculations and reports with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and coordination skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive, solutions-driven approach with strong attention to detail
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours:
9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week, 1-hour lunch break)
