This role is commutable from Devizes, Basingstoke, Andover, Bath, Amesbury, Swindon, Trowbridge, Chippenham, Marlborough.
This is a cloud focused infrastructure role primarily supporting Microsoft Azure cloud and is part of the Technology Operations team within the I&T Department. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, with a focus on security, stability and scalability of services to meet business needs.
What You’ll Do:
* Design and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient Azure infrastructure and services.
* Manage and Administer Azure resources including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services.
* Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates
* Monitor performance and availability of cloud services
* Implement and enforce security best practices, policies, and compliance in cloud deployments.
* Implement patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening processes.
* Assist in the migration of workloads from on-premises to Azure.
* Implement and maintain robust disaster recovery and backup strategies across all Azure environments.
* Keep up to date with Azure innovations and propose opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with standards including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and NIST frameworks.
What You’ll Need
* 3+ years of experience working in cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure
* Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
* ITIL v4 Foundation
* Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory
* Azure Key Vault, Azure Security Centre, Azure Policy
* Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Redhat Open Shift or other container services
* Proficiency in scripting (Power Shell, Bash) and automation
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VPN, DNS, firewalls, load balancers)
* Understanding of cloud identity, access control, and security (RBAC, MFA, conditional access)
* Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
* Proficient in Microsoft operating systems and applications, including Windows Server 2016 to 2025, Windows 11, Microsoft Office 365.
* Strong knowledge and experience in Service Management / Service Desk tools to capture, manage, resolve and report on IT Service tickets (incidents, requests, problems, etc.)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
