CNC Turner - Programmer / Setter / Operator (Hitachi Seiki)
Location:
Wimborne
Salary: £15.26 p/h
Hours:
39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:45
Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
Breaks: 45 minutes unpaid lunch break (Monday to Thursday)
Team Jobs is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established and respected precision engineering manufacturer for an experienced CNC Turner to join their production team.
This is a temporary role offering excellent work‑life balance, including early finishes every Friday.
The Role- Programming, setting and operating Hitachi Seiki CNC turning machines
- Writing, editing and proving ISO programs at the machine
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, CAD data and GD&T
- Tool selection, setting offsets, speeds and feeds
- Working with a variety of materials in a precision manufacturing environment
- Carrying out in‑process and final inspection using micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Completing production and quality documentation accurately
- Performing routine machine checks, basic maintenance and fault reporting
- Supporting continuous improvement and problem‑solving activities
- Working closely with Engineering and Quality departments
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner - Programmer / Setter / Operator
- Strong hands‑on experience with Hitachi Seiki CNC lathes
- Confident with ISO control / ISO programming
- Ability to work independently from drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of GD&T and tight tolerance machining
- Competent using inspection and measuring equipment
- Time‑served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Experience in a manufacturing / precision engineering environment
- Reliable, detail‑focused and quality‑driven attitude
- Experience with Seicos controls
- Exposure to 4 or 5‑axis machining
- Knowledge of other CNC controls (transferable skills welcomed)
- Early finish every Friday
