Structural Engineer role at Ridge and Partners LLP

• Prepare outline designs for structural schemes based on client briefs
• Carry out detailed design calculations to Eurocodes using the latest 3D design software
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and specialists using BIM
• Assist with the production of detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes
• Visit sites during construction to monitor on-site progress
• Carry out structural surveys of existing buildings and advise on any arising issues
• Analyse and report on structural defects in existing buildings and structures
• Check outgoing and incoming documents, including contractor proposal documentation

• Good understanding of basic structural behaviour
• Proactive approach with a can‑do attitude
• Team player within the structures team, wider office teams and clients
• Degree in structural or civil engineering and working towards professional chartership status
• Proven experience of working in structural design and site experience in a construction company
• Understanding of basic regulatory requirements including Eurocodes (covered in interview)
• Experience and understanding of sustainability issues within structural design
• Proficient user of structural analysis software such as TEKLA, Master series, SCIA and TEDDS
• Competency at report writing and other forms of design communication
