Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure all maintenance is carried out daily to a high standard.
  • Allocate responsibilities to the maintenance team and complete the daily jobs list and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Manage contractors on site, ensuring they follow hotel protocol and provide required paperwork.
  • Monitor contractor performance and maintain safety records.
  • Maintain the property as a safe environment, including building, gardens, and car parks.
  • Carry out planned maintenance according to the H&S set‑up – daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Ensure plant rooms and other key areas are kept safe and staff are aware of safety requirements.
  • Confirm that all staff have the necessary training and are signed off.
  • Keep all H&S records up to date and follow procedures to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Prepare and monitor the maintenance budget, influencing profit and loss results.
  • Track stock movement, security, and maintain stock levels.
  • Assist with monitoring contractor agreements, ensuring quotes, tenders, and accounts stay within agreed costs.
  • Complete par stocks of equipment to keep the department running smoothly.
  • Report monthly stock valuation to the financial controller.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience managing a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Knowledge of building systems – HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and scheduling.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for emergency maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to ensure a safe working environment for staff.
  • Professional attitude when interacting with guests and staff.
