We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Site Agent to join the Volker Stevin team working as part of our United Utilities Framework delivery team on a water project around Cumbria.

The Senior Site Agent will be responsible for the onsite delivery of the construction-phase of assigned sites or a section of the site on a large scheme. To receive and provide instruction and direction to ensure the successful delivery of the construction works, including co‑ordination of MEICA installation, assigned by the Contracts Manager and Project Manager.

Accountable For
  • Programme, health & safety, environmental and quality performance of their sites through the full construction-phase (civils and MEICA installation).
  • Management of supply chain during construction: pre‑start, progress and 360° performance reviews & feedback, EW, CE, PMI programme acceptance – supported by Site Agent/Sub‑Agent and commercial team.
  • Identification of change, risk or opportunity during construction‑phase and feedback to Portfolio PM for resolution.
  • Ensure accuracy of Cl.32 programme updates and project forecast during construction phase. Accuracy of site cost controls.
  • Development of improvement strategies with site management teams, communication of initiatives and good performance to the wider team.
  • Supply of accurate information for monthly progress reporting to Portfolio PM.
  • Client liaison and relationships maintained with key contacts at the project/site level – UU PMC, Construction Supervisor, UU Process Controller and other operational staff.
Responsible For
  • Liaise with MEICA installation team and commissioning/handover teams to ensure works and programme are managed and coordinated across the full project‑delivery phase.
  • Responsible for development of initial Temporary Works Schedule and inclusion within Construction Programme, progression of any initial designs to support start on site.
  • Responsible for input to civils procurement enquiries; specifically scope, programme and management provision.
  • Responsible for handover of pre‑construction pack to Site Agent/Sub‑Agent/Senior Engineer/MEICA Site Manager.
  • Responsible for development of detailed delivery programme and project forecast during TAP4 phase and prior to start on site, in conjunction with planning and commercial functions respectively.
  • Responsible for supply of project‑specific information to support planning applications, land acquisition and other third‑party interfaces.
  • Responsible for co‑ordination with design prior to start on site – constructability input and deliverables management to programme.
  • Specific Pre‑construction responsibilities:
    • Organise enabling works and site mobilisation including site set‑up, with support from site team.
    • Ensure HSEQ pre‑start meeting held.
  • Ensure that the Site Management Plan is prepared, maintained and reviewed throughout the construction‑phase of each project.
  • Ensure that Safety Ripple & Quality Ripple are established and embedded at all sites.
  • Ensure that all site team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities for each specific project.
  • Regularly review team performance against responsibilities and give feedback both good and bad.
  • Liaise with Portfolio PM regarding approvals and decisions at key stages. Seek approval of all major plans and authorisation of significant deviation from the plan, e.g. staff discipline, unplanned cost increases, acceleration etc.
  • Ensure Workspace is correctly administered in line with company procedures.
