    Plasman Global Headquarters at Burke Street Oldcastle, ON
    is immediately seeking a new member to join our team as:

    Estimator

    The Estimator is responsible to process quotes, log details, communicate changes, and manage all information pertinent to the function of Estimating. This position reports to the Director of Cost Estimating.

    Key Responsibilities include:

  • Inputs Customer RFQ into the quote tracking system.
  • Communicates and reviews quote/no quote decision with appropriate sales management.
  • Ensures completion of RFQ packages, distributes RFQ packages to division personnel and contacts APP Sales personnel if incomplete.
  • Sets target dates and monitors target dates with Sales team.
  • Supports manufacturing personnel with additional requested information for RFQ packages to ensure quote accuracy.
  • Collects internal cost bases from the plants.
  • Ensures all quotes from divisions are complete (ex. Feasibility studies, capacities, SQE signoffs, etc.).
  • Delivers executive summary sheets (directly) for approval to Sales Management Team and at least one member of the Executive group.
  • Distributes quote master sheet to Sales Department once approved by Sales and the Executive group.
  • Notifies division personnel of quote acceptance/non-acceptance.
  • Tracks all engineering changes to ensure Program Management is aware of the change.
  • Maintains a database management system to include business not received and status of all current and past quotes including; piece price, engineering changes, dates of quotes, personnel involved in order to develop a full and complete history of each job.
  • Ensures all quote files are maintained and up to date.
  • Ensures all customer requirements, APP quote standards, and supplier quote standards are updated on an ongoing basis.
  • Completes IRR, Variable Margin and Capital Requirements calculations for President & CEO.
  • Supports Program Managers at the customer technical reviews meetings (when required).
  • Assists with pricing issues for tooling and piece prices as requested.
  • Helps support, maintain and utilize respective internal/customer portals.
  • Submits customer responses for piece price and tooling costs in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures quarterly exchange rate changes and the material costs are accurate and up to date for all production parts (Honda only).
  • Interacts with respective customers on a regular basis.
  • Prepares all paperwork for and attends GAP meetings as required (Honda only).
  • Ensures quotes are turned around to customer within the customer provided timeline (Honda within 10 days/ General Motors within 3 days).
  • Suggests and implements new systems to streamline and improve APP quoting processes.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed a College/University level program in Engineering/Finance or a related area.
  • MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must have at least 3 to 5 years' experience as an Estimator quoting plastic component parts .
  • Must have experience in Blue Print Reading and the comprehension of State of Requirements.
  • Proven project management skills and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is a requirement.
