Job Purpose / Primary Objectives:
We are seeking a highly experienced TM Forum SOM Architect to own and govern the Service Order Management (SOM) architecture. This role will focus on aligning order capture, decomposition, orchestration, lifecycle, and fulfilment integrations to TM Forum standards, ensuring consistency and cohesion across squads and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities- Own the TMF-aligned SOM architecture and ensure adherence across all product lines.
- Apply TMF 641/640/638 patterns consistently across solutions.
- Maintain SOM architectural guardrails and align SOM with COM and EPC outputs.
- Define orchestration logic for multi-product, multi-step journeys and ensure robust integration handling, including retries, fallout, and partial fulfilment.
- Design integrations with billing, CRM, field services, scheduling, inventory, and partner systems.
- Promote TMF Open APIs usage and ensure stable, versioned, and testable integration contracts.
- Define canonical interaction patterns for orchestration, activation, assurance, and lifecycle events.
- Guide SOM designers, BAs, architects, and vendors on TMF-standard modelling.
- Review LLDs, solution designs, test plans, and build outputs for alignment.
- Champion TMF ODA and Open API principles, translating complex concepts into actionable guidance for delivery teams.
- Ensure SOM designs align with enterprise-wide principles, domain strategy, and target state.
- Represent SOM architecture at DA forums, presenting options, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Strengthen delivery processes through feedback, documentation, and best practices.
- Strong experience designing and implementing solutions using TM Forum Open APIs, with a deep understanding of ODA and Open API frameworks.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, microservices architecture, and cloud-native deployment models (Docker, Kubernetes, public/hybrid cloud platforms).
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to lead discussions and build consensus across teams.
- Utilities domain experience (Product, Customer, Service, Resource Management) is advantageous.
- TM Forum ODA certification is desirable.
- 15+ years of overall experience.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a SOM Architect.
- Client-facing with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to coordinate across multiple vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Experienced in providing architectural leadership in complex environments.
