Role:
As the Construction Foreman, you will be the key leader on construction sites, responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing crews, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining project quality and timelines, acting as the link between workers and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and supervision throughout all phases of the projectDevelop, maintain and execute the construction schedule to ensure full completion of the project prior to the closing date 100% of the timeWork closely with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, Owner, Consultant, Subcontractors, Inspectors, and other stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective project deliverySchedule, monitor and supervise all subcontractor work quality and production levels to ensure the highest standards are achievedCalculate, monitor and track all materials required for the projectAssess construction discrepancies and brainstorm solutions to maintain a desired finished productTrack all extra work and process in accordance with contractual obligationsOversee client requests and inspections to ensure satisfaction and completion in a timely mannerCoach, motivate and develop the skills of 5-10 team members on siteResolve day-to-day field personnel issuesAchieve project schedule milestones, taking corrective action where necessary to meet key milestone datesParticipate in safety training and development initiatives as identified or requestedCommunicate and administer all Safety policies and conduct site safety meetingsInspect construction sites for potential hazards throughout the duration of the projectOversee execution of the work, including quality and production, by ensuring that the crews work to job specifications and follow drawingsMaintain records of project progress and report to Project ManagerAbility to work in the city of WinnipegTravel to surrounding Manitoba areas may be requiredDesired Skills and Qualifications:
2-5 years experience in a Foreman/Site Supervisor role preferredSkilled in reading and reviewing blueprints/floor plansExcellent communication skills; written and verbalStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsExcellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple projectsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of peoplePost-secondary education (e.g., Construction Technology, Carpentry, Civil Engineering, etc.) preferred but not requiredValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseWhy Join U Build Construction?
