Position: Senior Transportation Engineer/Project Manager (MTI)
Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Design and Project management
Management of transportation engineering team activities and support to project managers/technical staff in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects within the province, for the Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) client. In addition to MTI, the selected individual will also support transportation projects across the province, within the City of Winnipeg and across the companyDevelopment of technical expertise on a variety of transportation engineering projects, including functional and preliminary designs, detailed designs and contract administration phases, transportation master plans, and owner’s engineering servicesLiaison with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists, technical support staff,Development of client relationships and new business opportunitiesContribution to the career development of more junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon requestBusiness Development
Prepare estimates and project proposalsContribute to the development of public and private sector client relationships and new business opportunitiesBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon requestLearning & Development
Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualifications
An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited universityRegistered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer ( with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, preferably with an emphasis on transportation projects within the consulting industryProven leadership and business development capabilitiesProven ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams. Experience with Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) transportation/infrastructure projects is desired and would be considered a valuable assetExperience
Proven experience and ability as a project manager in functional design, preliminary and detailed design, and contract administration of municipal and provincial transportation facilities within the Province of Manitoba for Manitoba Transportation InfrastructureDemonstrated abilities in the leadership of multidisciplinary projects and teamsExceptional abilities in project managementIn-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planningExperience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads and intersectionsProven skills in public and agency consultationExceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essentialWhy choose Dillon
