Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.)

Position Overview
Experience

Minimum two (2) years recent nursing experience in Cardiology or Cardiac Surgery or Emergency or experience in Cardiac Special Procedures and/or Cardiac Catheterization Lab required.

Previous experience in ICU, EP Lab, Device Implant Lab and/or Pre/Post is considered an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Advanced Assessment or the WRHA resuscitation course (or equivalent program/training) required.

** NOTE
* * SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION of the following course(s) will be required:
Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) Program developed by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) if no previous ICU experience or ICU course; and Concepts in Electrophysiology when the opportunity to take the course(s) is scheduled by the employer, or as otherwise mutually agreed to between the nurse and the employer.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • If there are no applicants meeting the qualifications, the employer may consider an applicant who does not meet the above qualifications.
Physical Requirements

Note:

Please be advised that there are staggered start and finish times for day and evening shifts on this unit:

  • Day shifts are between the hours of 0600 and 1715.
  • Evening shifts are between the hours of 1530 and 2345.
  • There are also standby on call shifts on this unit.
