Automatic Cutter

Overview

Canada Goose is seeking an Automatic Cutter to operate cutting machines, change blades, check machine status before cutting, and monitor cut quality. The role requires constant attention to cut quality and adherence to safety procedures.

• Take instructions from Supervisor
• Read cutting orders
• Check the cut information called in the program and ensure the styles and sizes are correct
• Check the cycle according to cutting order. Ensure cutting machine is set up according to ply height speed and reciprocation speed
• Check material (fabrics) for completeness prior to cutting
• Report immediately to the Supervisor any issues
• Ensure proper safety procedures are followed
• Check quality while the machine is cutting
• Assist the Sorter in ensuring all cut pieces are removed and packed
• Ensure a clean and safe workstation

• Grade 12
• Experience in an apparel manufacturing environment is an asset

• Understanding of numbers and measurements
• Basic computer skills
• Good command of English
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Standing or walking for 8 hours
• Working knowledge of production functions
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Strong work ethic with a proactive approach
• Detail-oriented and accurate
• Self-directed with the ability to complete projects with limited supervision
