- Review vendor documentation, including Certificates of Conformance and Certificates of Analysis, for various items purchased at the Plant including rocket motor hardware components and chemical raw ingredients.
- Inspect received hardware components for conformance to specifications by examining workmanship and finishes.
- Inspect received hardware components for conformance to drawings by measuring dimensions using a variety of methods and gauges.
- Inspect in-process parts and assemblies for conformance to written process instructions.
- Will do tool calibration as required.
- Communicate results and non-conformances to Engineering and Laboratory staff by verbal and written methods including computerized databases.
- Previous inspection experience in an aerospace environment will be considered an asset.
- Formal training in Inspection and Geometric Dimensioning.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications including an understanding of mechanical drawings, dimensional requirements, tolerances, workmanship standards.
- Ability to use a variety of standard measurement tools including Vernier calipers, micrometers and dial bore gauges.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with industrial production and processing.
- Quality Inspector Certification – Red River or equivalent an asset.
- Meet visual acuity requirements specified in QSP 12.0.
