Standard Aero has an opportunity for a Welder with experience in metal fabrication equipment such as gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and resistance welding.
What You'll do
As a Welder you will:
Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specificationsRead and interpret blueprints or welding process specificationsOperate brazing and soldering equipmentOperate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machinesParticipate in continuous improvement of processesCross train in other complementary skills to support production requirementsObserve all applicable safety requirements What Skills You'll need
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalentCompletion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalentAbility to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work dayDesired Characteristics:
2+ years experience welding in an Aerospace or Aviation environmentExperience with welding thin gauge material and exotic metals (Inconel and Hastelloy)Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints and welding process specificationsThorough understanding of tool design and fabrication methods and processesWorking knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labelsWorking knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systemsAttainment of trade certificationAttainment of applicable welding ticket(s)Well organized with attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skillsBenefits that make life better:
