Slitting Assistant

Winpak Division is seeking a Slitting Assistant to join the Slitting Department based out of Winnipeg on an 8-hour rotating shift. In this role you will assist the operators in the safe operation of the slitters and ensure quality and production are maintained.

• Assist the Operators with the preparation of orders.
• Assist the Operators with the running of the slitter with emphasis on the manual aspects associated with the operation of the machine.
• Assist with simple routine maintenance on the machines.
• Operate the doctoring machine.
• Operate forklift and/or pallet jack equipment to move materials within the department.

• 1+ years of experience clearly communicating with team members both verbal and written.
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts as required including days, nights, and afternoons.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.5 kilograms).
• 6+ months of experience with hand and/or power tools.

• 6+ months of experience with equipment and/or machinery (not limited to lawn mowers, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, cranes, balers).
• 6+ months of experience in manufacturing and/or production environment.

• The Slitting Assistant position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
• We are located in Murray Industrial Park. There are limited bus services to this location.

• Week 1 - Monday to Friday 7:00 - 3:00 (days)
• Week 2 - Monday to Friday 23:00 - 7:00 (nights)
• Week 3 - Monday to Friday 3:00 - 23:00 (afternoons)
• Week 4 - Repeat rotation starting at week 1
