Position Overview

Reporting to the Director Health Services - Public Health-Healthy Living & Primary Care/Francophone designate and the Manager Health Services - Primary Health Care in a matrix reporting structure and working collaboratively within the My Health Team, the Nurse Practitioner applies current nursing and medical theory, key knowledge, and critical thinking skills to strive to improve the health for clients within the Mon équipe santé, linking Francophone communities.

The Nurse Practitioner applies current and relevant nursing and medical theory to allow for the contribution of knowledge, development and involvement in advancing the principles of primary health care. The incumbent also demonstrates competency to teach and mentor others and models collaborative practice.

The incumbent is fluent in French in both written and oral forms and supports the promotion of French language services at all times.

The incumbent will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

L'infirmier(ère) praticien(ne) applique les principes des soins infirmiers et la théorie médicale en cours et pertinents favorisant la contribution des connaissances, du développement et de la participation en vue de promouvoir les principes des soins de santé primaires. Le ou la titulaire démontre également une aptitude à l'enseignement et à l'encadrement du personnel infirmier et donne un bon exemple de la pratique collaborative.

Le ou la titulaire du poste maîtrise le français oral et écrit et soutient la promotion des services en français en tout temps.

Le ou la titulaire du poste bénéficie d’un niveau d’initiative approprié et fait preuve d’un jugement indépendant pour déterminer les priorités de travail, les méthodes de travail à utiliser et les mesures à adopter pour traiter les questions inhabituelles. Les fonctions du poste sont exercées d’une manière conforme à la vision, à la mission, aux valeurs et aux politiques de Southern Health-Santé Sud.

• Two (2) years’ experience in a clinical nursing or community health setting is preferred.

Expérience:
Deux (2) ans d’expérience en soins infirmiers cliniques ou dans un environnement de santé communautaire sont préférables.

• Masters of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Stream or equivalent educational preparation as approved by College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.

Formation (degré/diplôme/certificat):
Maîtrise en sciences infirmières, volet infirmière praticienne ou formation équivalente approuvée par l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Manitoba (OIIM).

• Active practicing membership on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Certification/permis d’exercice/enregistrement:
Actuellement inscrit et membre en règle à titre d’infirmière praticienne ou infirmier praticien et être titulaire d'un certificat à cet égard de l'Ordre des infirmières et des infirmiers du Manitoba et le champ d’exercice défini par la Loi sur les professions de la santé réglementés. Certificat en règle en réanimation de base (BCLS).
