Lead Customary Care implementation and child welfare services from Sandy Bay Main Office, supporting family connections and reunification. Travel is required.
The Customary Care Supervisor manages child welfare workers and transitions service delivery from court-related services to contracting services. The supervisor supports children, youth, and families while maintaining connections and pursuing reunification wherever possible. This position requires supervisory experience in Manitoba’s child and family services system and knowledge of Customary Care development.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage child welfare workers within the Sandy Bay Main Office
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate Customary Care practices
- Develop and provide Customary Care training
- Review family support plans and voluntary placement agreements
- Attend case conferences and court proceedings when required
- Post-secondary training in social sciences or relevant specialization
- Several years’ supervisory experience in Manitoba child and family services
- Knowledge of Customary Care development, implementation, and evaluation
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
Support Sandy Bay families through Customary Care supervision, regulatory compliance, service transition, and culturally grounded reunification work.
