Payworks develops proprietary, integrated SaaS-based products in the payroll, human resources and time and attendance space. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Software Developer will be responsible for developing software solutions for new and existing clients. The development of these innovative solutions is designed to meet our clients’ unique business needs. You will get the chance to work with our top-notch team to build out and connect various interfaces, including mobile interfaces, to our Service Based Architecture.

  • WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience as a Software Developer or in a similar position.
  • Proven experience with coding solutions in a modern procedural language such as C#, Java or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with both established (e.g., monolithic architectures, older MVC frameworks) and modern technologies (e.g., microservices, containerized environments, cloud-native architectures).
  • Demonstrated expertise in refactoring and migrating codebases to modern frameworks (e.g., migrating from Angular

    JS to React, .NET Framework to .NET Core, or on-premise to cloud).
  • Proven ability to independently triage and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems, including performance bottlenecks, architectural flaws, and integration challenges.
  • Solid understanding and application of secure coding practices (e.g., input validation, output encoding, least privilege, secure session handling).
