Position: Logistics Coordinator (Dispatcher)

Summit Search Group has been retained by our client on the recruitment of their next Logistics Coordinator (Dispatcher). Our client is a leader in operational excellence, committed to safety, service, and efficiency. They are seeking a skilled professional to join their Winnipeg team and play a key role in ensuring smooth and effective daily operations.

Reporting to the Logistics and Safety Lead, the Logistics Coordinator (Dispatcher) is responsible for coordinating daily operational activities, optimizing load and scheduling efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards. The successful candidate will also manage inventory records and deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a critical role in keeping operations efficient, safe, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Operators and Resources:
    Assign, direct, and support operators to ensure efficient daily operations and workflow, including daily tailgate meetings.
  • Optimize Load Capacity and Scheduling:
    Plan and manage routes, loads, and schedules to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure Compliance, Safety, and Maintenance:
    Monitor adherence to regulations and safety protocols, proactively schedule truck and equipment servicing.
  • Manage Inventory and Documentation:
    Maintain accurate inventory records, reporting, and operational documentation.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
    Provide responsive, professional support to internal teams and external clients, ensuring needs are met promptly and effectively.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience in dispatch logistics; fuel inventory management experience considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation, safety, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with logistics, tracking, and office software including CRM, GPS, point-of-sale, back-office systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
