The RoleThis is an Airworthiness Review position ideally suited to ex-service applicants, who must meet the SQEP requirements of MRP RA 4972 with wide-body aircraft experience. The core task involves undertaking, documenting, and communicating the outcomes of Military Airworthiness Reviews to meet the requirements of MRP RA. The incumbent must be prepared to work flexibly as part of a team at various UK locations, and possibly overseas if required, but will primarily be located and work from RAF Brize Norton.
Responsibilities- Undertake Military Airworthiness Reviews (Mil AR) and compilation of Mil AR Reports compliant with the outputs required by the Regulator and orders and processes detailed by the Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (MilCAM). This may be conducted working alone or as part of a team and will primarily focus on the Airbus A400 and Boeing C-17 platforms.
- Maintaining personal currency with Mil AR authorisations.
- Building sustainable relationships with core CAMO and other staffs.
- Ensuring a robust code of ethics underpins Mil AR service delivery.
- Ensuring that Health and Safety procedures and processes are always observed.
- Comply with all procedures listed in the current Staff Employee Handbook.
- Meet requirements of MRP RA 4972 (Military Airworthiness Review Surveyors – MRP Part M Sub Part I)
- Experience of working in the Defence Air Environment (DAE) on wide-body Platforms
- Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation and the MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP)
- Eligible to obtain and hold SC level Security Clearance
- One of the following 3 education / career routes:
Degree educated in a technical discipline with experience of working as an engineer in the air sector
HND/HNC or similar qualifications in a technical discipline with considerable experience of working as an engineer in the air sector
Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status - MAA or CAA Continuing Airworthiness Management (Part M) training.
- MAA approved CAMO Regulatory Training.
- ISO 9001/AS9100 Internal Auditor certification.
- Ministry of Defence trained Lead or Internal Auditor who has previously been awarded QGEN-QAS with the X701 or X700 annotation.
- G081 and MDS Inquiry and data interrogation.
- Extensive experience of making engineering airworthiness decisions (a level of competence deemed comparable to that required to hold MAMP-G703 or above for ex-service personnel).
- Previous experience of paperless Aircraft Engineering and Asset Management Systems.
- Knowledge of the Military or Civil airworthiness review certification process.
- Previous experience of conducting aircraft surveys (e.g. zonal or physical condition surveys).
