We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated Heritage No.2 Mechanic to take responsibility for the planning, coordination, preparation and build of Heritage Formula One cars and sub-components, both at our factory and at worldwide events. This role plays a vital part in preserving our legacy while presenting and operating our cars to elite standards. This position is offered as a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, created to support exciting project work within the Heritage department, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of high-profile programmes and events throughout the year.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the planning, coordination, preparation, build and servicing of F1 cars, subcomponents and pit equipment, (both Williams and client-owned), before, during and after events.
  • Adhere to stringent technical specifications, design requirements and Williams standards at all times.
  • Travel regularly to support client events, demonstrations and racing activities worldwide.
  • Work to tight deadlines and targets set by management and the wider business.
  • Collaborate closely with the Heritage Car Assembly Manager, providing accurate data, forecasts and reports, and escalating technical or operational risks.
  • Maintain cars, equipment, garage/event spaces and the Heritage workshop to a world-class standard, reflecting our showcase facility visited by VIPs, sponsors and high‑profile clients.
  • Update and manage departmental databases and technical documentation related to builds, lifing and maintenance.
  • Identify and communicate failed, missing or incorrect components and manage repair or replacement through the appropriate processes.
  • Support logistical planning and onsite storage requirements for events.
  • Ensure new or replacement components are correctly designed, procured and handled in line with Williams processes and policies.
  • Build strong working relationships across Heritage, Event Support, Race Team and third‑party suppliers.
  • Act as a positive influence within the team, supportive, proactive and solutions‑focused.
  • Contribute creative thinking to future‑proof safe operation of Heritage Formula One cars.
  • Uphold and promote the Williams and Williams Heritage brand at all times.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role, demonstrate and promote Williams Values & Behaviours.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of conduct and act as a positive ambassador for the department.
  • Uphold Williams brand standards and support continuous improvement in quality and performance.
  • Understand and work within cost cap rules and related requirements.
