Capex Manager (2-Year Fixed Term Contract) Location :

Are you a strategic, forward-thinking leader with a passion for delivering high-impact capital projects? Our pharmaceutical manufacturing client are seeking a Capex Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of capital expenditure projects at their site. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the site’s long-term investment strategy and drive operational excellence.

About the Role

As Capex Manager, you’ll act as the central coordination point for all capital projects—large and small—ensuring smooth collaboration across engineering and wider support functions. You’ll oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through to successful delivery, while upholding corporate governance standards and ensuring alignment with business priorities.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will lead and manage the Capex portfolio by :

  • Keeping the master plan and project portfolio up to date, including cost tracking and timelines
  • Working closely with stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, Legal, and other key functions
  • Monitoring changes across the portfolio and communicating updates to senior leadership
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate Capex guidelines
  • Establishing governance and control frameworks to track progress and secure buy-in
  • Providing tools, templates, and best practices to support consistent project delivery
  • Leading projects from conception through to completion, managing cross-functional teams, contractors, and external partners
  • Maintaining strong financial oversight of all capital projects
  • Managing and updating the site engineering system
What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for a proactive, experienced professional with :

  • A strong track record of delivering multiple £1m+ projects in highly regulated environments
  • Experience with in pharmaceutical manufacturing or bioprocessing
  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Process)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong planning abilities and robust cost control expertise
  • A results-driven approach, with the ability to lead teams and prioritise effectively
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to listen and learn
