Overview

We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional GP Practice Receptionist to join our busy and supportive primary care team. This role is often the first point of contact for patients and requires excellent communication skills, discretion and a calm approach in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Managing telephone calls and appointment bookings
  • Registering new patients and processing patient information
  • Handling prescription queries and administrative tasks
  • Supporting clinicians with general administrative duties
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Using clinical systems such as EMIS (or similar)
  • Supporting the day‑to‑day running of reception
Qualifications & Skills
  • Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or caring role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
