Commercial Operations IT Analyst| | Commercial Operations IT Analyst || | UTEC, Acteon’s Geo-services business line, harnesses data to optimise designs, save time and maximise your project’s economic value by providing a holistic understanding of the marine environment. We are looking to hire a Commercial Operations IT Analyst on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Wokingham, the Commercial Operations IT Analyst will work closely with other members of the Commercial Operations IT Team to support and enhance our commercial IT offerings. The role will also work closely with the wider engineering disciplines, internal staff across all office locations, and end customers.
The role is envisaged to be split between handling IT support escalations, system monitoring/maintenance activities, and supporting project deployments.
Duties &
Main Responsibilities:
• Providing remote support to field/offshore operations & data services
• Assist with IT system deployments relating to commercial operations
• Monitoring, administration, and maintenance of our commercial cloud services
• Working with IT Lead to maintain and continuously improve the commercial service offerings
• Contribute to procedure and process documentation for the Commercial IT infrastructure & services Skills - Essential:
• 2 years or greater in IT support roles (or similar)
• Experience at 2nd line or above in a technical helpdesk environment
• Self-motivated and capable of independent working, but also happy to work within & across teams/disciplines
• Able to solve problems in complex technical solutions
• Keen to learn new skills
• Understanding of cloud services
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking & firewalls
• Understanding of Cyber Security principles
• Windows Client/Server & HyperV
• Linux administration
• Experience with using system monitoring and remote/telemetry solutions
• Experience with supporting systems in a remote environment
• Creating and maintaining technical system documentation Skills – Desirable:
• Experience supporting commercial cloud-delivered services or solutions
• Engineering background/experience working within an engineering environment
• Experience of using message bus solutions for microservice communications
• Working within an Agile/Dev Ops environment (making use of Git Hub or Azure Dev Ops)
• Industrial data exchange protocols (MODBUS, MQTT, OPC-DA/UA etc.)
• Understanding of Open-Source software projects and development environments
• Running Dotnet/Go applications
• Running applications in a containerised environment
• Experience with Telegraf, Influx
DB, Grafana (TIG) stack
• Scripting (Powershell, Bash, etc.)
• Experience administering Azure cloud services
• Experience administering switches and firewalls
• Working within a quality assured environment Skills - Advantageous:
• IT in an OT context
• Understanding of TSN or EtherCAT
• Loki and/or Prometheus
• Other Operating Systems - e.g. FreeBSD
• Web App delivery (e.g. Reverse Proxy/WAF) solutions
• Kubernetes
• Deployment automation solutions (Terraform, Bicep etc.) || | Wokingham |
