Accountant - General Practice

Practice Accountant, Chartered accountant, public practice accountant, accountant, VAT, tax Your new company A vibrant and energetic local accountancy practice based in Bangor requires a qualified general practice accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent). This will suit an experienced accountant who wants to work in a practice environment. You will have a passion for seeing a job through and offering a first-class service to the clients of the firm.

You will have meticulous attention to detail and be pragmatic and honest, offering advice across Accounts, Tax and VAT to the clients of the firm. Your new role Prepare annual and management accounts for SME businesses across various sectors Complete and submit VAT returns in accordance with current legislation Manage corporation tax and personal tax computations and submissions Liaise with HMRC on client matters and respond to queries efficiently Support clients with bookkeeping software, including setup and troubleshooting Identify areas for improvement and advise clients on financial best practices Contribute to internal process improvements and help streamline operations Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication What you'll need to succeed ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified Previous experience working in general practice with SME clients Strong knowledge of UK VAT and taxation frameworks Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Quick Books, Sage) Excellent attention to detail and time management skills Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team What you'll get in return 30 Days Annual leave Enhanced sick pay Pension Flexibility around your personal life Free onsite parking in a nice out-of-town area within Bangor, County Down.
