Critical Care Receptionist / Ward Clerk

ICCU Receptionist/Ward Clerk – Part‑time (30 hours per week)
Monday – Friday 2pm – 8pm

Experienced Receptionist/Administrator wanted for our busy Critical Care Unit. You will provide patient‑focused care and support the clinical team with a range of administrative duties.

• Provide an efficient, courteous and helpful reception service to patients, families and professionals.
• Undertake clerical duties: custody and use of health records, filing, filing of results and correspondence, and management of incoming/outgoing mail.
• Use a range of IT systems (including PAS) to add, update and amend patient information accurately.
• Register, admit, transfer and discharge patients on the PAS.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safeguarding procedures.
• Track and amass case notes and manage case note security.
• Process telephone conversations and update patient demographic details.
• Assist with training, induction and liaising with clinical staff.
• Arrange appointments, referrals, pharmacy pickups, laboratory specimens and transfer of patients as required.
• Support daily coverage and ensure adequate stationary supplies.
• Attend mandatory training, participate in staff appraisal and follow all Trust policies and procedures.

• 4 GCSEs or equivalent (incl. English Language).
• IT literate – ability to use PC‑based software.
• Reception / clerical experience.

• Previous experience with PAS systems.
• Excellent verbal communication – ability to take and pass clear messages.
• Experience working in an acute/fast‑paced environment.

Salary: £24,465 per annum pro‑rata
