We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking main contractor with exciting plans for growth across both the private and public sectors. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Wolverhampton Head Office, providing commercial support across a portfolio of construction projects.
This is a key role offering the opportunity to contribute to accurate cost management, commercial control and strategic project delivery.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial oversight and support to projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, on budget and in line with contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing and managing cost estimates, budgets and forecasts for projects
* Monitoring project costs and identifying potential risks and opportunities
* Managing subcontractor valuations, variations and payment applications
* Supporting tender preparation and commercial negotiations
* Liaising with Project Managers, Site Teams and Clients on financial matters
* Producing regular reports on project financial performance
* Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, company policies and procedures
About You
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within main contracting
* Background working on construction projects across private and public sectors
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management and cost control
* Experienced in procurement, subcontractor management and valuations
* Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
* Relevant QS qualification (RICS or equivalent preferred)
